2016 Mazda BT-50 ‘s new grille and headlights is in line with Mazda’s current Kodo aesthetic, as well as new Mazda 2-esque two-tone alloy wheels. In October 2014 Mazda introduced Mazda BT-50 Pro Eclipse Edition. As Ford Ranger has Wildtrak, isuzu Dmax X-Series and Toyota Hilux the TRD, Mazda BT-50 Pro now has the beautiful Eclipse. The Eclipse brings on a chunkier new front bumper, larger air intakes and a more prominent sump guard. LED daytime running light strips sit above the fog lamps to add to the bold and beautiful look. In the rear of the truck the tail light extensions are replaced by ‘wing-shaped’ detailing around the Mazda logo. There’s also a special Eclipse sports bar and bed liner. The package is completed by unique side steps, dark grey alloys and decals. Definitely a very beautiful machine. The Eclipse special edition is only available in high-riding Hi-Racer form, in both Freestyle Cab (extra cab) and Double Cab body styles. Buy yours now.

BT-50 History

The BT-50 was launched at the Bangkok Motor Show on March 22, 2006. It shared its Duratorq/MZR-CD 2.5- and 3.0-liter diesel inline-four engines with the Ranger. In late November 2006, the new five-speed automatic transmission with BorgWarner transfer case has been added, as well as side airbags.

The BT-50 received a minor redesign in the first quarter of 2008, with a revised interior and several optional items made standard. In 2012 Mazda BT-50 underwent a major change and was a big hit.

Used Minor Change 2008 Facelift Model: 2008 to 2012

Mazda BT-50 has been modified for year 2008: The Mazda BT-50 pick-up gets a facelift throughout the range and now with B5-compatible engine, albeit retaining the same specs. Prices up by a few thousand from outgoing version starting at B541,900 for the base RWD open-cab 144hp 2.5-litre common-rail turbo-diesel manual to B895,900 for the 4WD double-cab 156hp 3.0 five-speed auto. – What we think: As with its Ford Ranger sister, the BT-50 is best in open cab form with solid 156hp 3.0-litre engine and semi-quick shifting five-speed manual. Dated chassis with recirculating ball steering more at home off-road than on it, but H/T tyres lets it down.

Mazda’s next-generation Mazda one-ton pickup, the BT-50 had made its world debut at the 2006 Bangkok International Motor Show in April and by all counts it was a great hit. The name was changed from Fighter to BT-50 to assign it one name in all markets and to bring its name in line with Mazda’s global alphanumeric nomenclature strategy. This is what a Malcolm Gough, executive officer and general manager of Mazda’s Overseas Sales Division had to say:
“BT-50 recognises the new range’s B-Series Truck heritage (BT) and the number “50” reflects that this one-ton vehicle is optimally positioned between smaller payload trucks (e.g. half-ton) and much larger trucks.

“The Bangkok global premiere of the new Mazda BT-50 pickup range will provide existing and prospective owners with the chance to be amongst the first to see the world’s “Zoom-Zoom” Truck.

We are offering a fantastic discount on this beautiful vehicle and it is moving fast especially in the Caribbean and the Southern African regions.
