Jim Corporate Social Responsibility – 5% Profits to Community

Jim has a rich history of corporate social responsibility, a proud history that has evolved to meet the changing needs of the communities and the challenges of a global society. Our founder, Quraishi Senior made a commitment to contribute 5% of our profits to the have-nots in his community irrespective of their caste, creed or color. Since 1911, this legacy continues to guide our company and our people. Social responsibility is a way of life at Jim. It means investing in and enriching our communities. It means encouraging employee volunteerism.

Our great grandfather continued this tradition but professionalized this giving by focusing on job creation, education and community relief. Mr. Jim expanded this further and took Jim philanthropy worldwide by creating JVC ( Jim Volunteer Corps) which reacted quickly in times of emergencies as earthquakes, hurricanes and tsunamis to help communities quickly in their times of greatest needs. Still we haven’t lost our traditions but have continued building on what Quraishi Sr. and Mr. Quraishi had accomplished.

2% of our profits go to environmental causes and projects and 3% to education, job creation, low cost housing, emergency relief, social services to the poorest communities of the world. We also work with NGOs that create beauty, foster culture, nurture children, provide access to food and housing for those in need, preserve nature, increase awareness of our environment, build an educated citizenry and a well-prepared workforce, and strive to provide better health for all.

Jim Autos also encourages employee philanthropy through a matching gift program. The company’s commitment to public interest through funding Jim Foundation is rooted in our belief that the prosperity of the community returns to us and to those who depend on us. We also encourage employee volunteerism and employees are given paid leave to engage in community welfare.

Jim is a different kind of organization, our policy is not dictated by the bottom-line. Since we are family-owned and family-operated quarterly profits are less important to us than keeping our high traditions alive and by acting responsibly and ethically in all kinds of situations and business climate. We always consider the interests of community and society by taking responsibility for the impact of our activities on customers, employees, communities and the environment in all aspects of our operations.

With us charity begins at home and we are dedicated to improve the quality of life for our team members and their families as well as for the local community and society at large. Our team members are paid twice the industry average, a on-staff professional chef provides three meals a day at company’s expense to all our employees and we also give free accommodation to those who choose to live at Jim campus to avoid commuting.

Our commitment to social responsibility is as strong today as it was when our company was founded. We are proud of our progress, but there is still much we can do.
