In the new Hilux Vigo, high-strength steel is used in order to realize excellent body rigidity and lightweight body. Rigidity has been maximized through an increased cross section of the side rails and reduction of required welding joints.

The 3.0-litre and 2.5-litre, 16-valve turbo diesel engines feature direct fuel injection by commonrail into the cylinders. This precisely controls the air-fuel ratio, contributing to the excellent response and fuel efficiency. A long-life fuel filter and an advanced fuel warning system contribute to the filter requiring less frequent replacement.
